Kenya Airways is offering a status match for various loyalty programs including hotels. Since Kenya Airways is part of SkyTeam, it would also mean that, upon approval of the status match application, you will also get the corresponding SkyTeam tier benefits.
On 22-Feb-2026 (Sunday), I decided to apply for this status match using my Marriott Bonvoy loyalty status since I would potentially be flying with SkyTeam member airlines (not necessarily Kenya Airways).
10:08 AM (CET), I submitted my application and paid US$299 for the fee.
Surprisingly, I got the approval the following day (02:25 AM CET), and a confirmation from Kenya Airways about my status upgrade!
That took only roughly 16 hours to be processed! That was quick!
As seen in the photo above, the status validity is 12 months from the date of the application.
